Tips to Maximize Your Curb Appeal During the Winter Season

As we soak up these last warm fall days in the Okanagan, it’s a great time to start preparing for the season to come. The winter months are a great time to tackle some indoor projects on your list, but don’t forget to show a little love to the exterior of your home too! Creating a polished, inviting and safe environment for your visitors this winter can be as easy as 1, 2, 3;

Some might even say it’s easiest to keep the exterior of a home tidy during the winter months, when our summer toys and gear is all stored away. Keep it simple; minimize the amount of clutter you have around the outside of your home. Before the snow files, finish up any exterior paint projects you have on your home to do list, such as giving your front door a cheery pop of colour. Integrating winter planters, bushes and shrubs into your landscaping, can be a great addition to maintain a pop of colour year-round and keep your property looking great too.

Guide your guests, make it easy for them to find you from the start with a sharp set of modern and visible house numbers. Add functional lighting to your property, accenting key areas such as the driveway, walkways and front porch. And remember to smile, embrace the season and enjoy the process of decorating with your own favourite winter accents.

3.     SAFE

Put the safety of your guests first. Start by removing any debris and clutter from the exterior of the home, keep walkways clear of snow and leaves. Ensure the path from the driveway all the way up to the front door is clear and well-lit for those travelling it.

Whether you’re looking to attract potential buyers with a winter listing or wow your holiday guests; be sure to make a great first impression from the minute they pull up to your driveway.
